Second day at the International Grand Prix Vila Blanes: ties are broken

New leadership: Aleix Subirà in Europe Class, the Polish crew Julia Szmitand & Hanna Dizk in 420 and the Swedish team A. Salaman & F. Bergmaan in 29er

Blanes, January, 3rd, 2015.- Second Racing day at the International Grand Prix Vila de Blanes 2015. Early morning, just some minutes after sunshine, all fleets were afloat sailing to their Racing areas.

Winter wind in Blanes bay starts very early and finishes about noon. Everyone was ready to race at 9:00 and finished at 12:00, after completing three races in Europe and 420 Classes and four in 29er. Wind of 300º, coming from the shore, started with a pressure of 12 knots, very steady, going down to 7 knots in the last half hour.

Today all competitors were able to discard their worse score, which helped to break the ties. After the second racing day, leaders are the Swedish A. Salamon and F Bergman in 29er with 9 points, Polish Julia Szmit and Hanna Dizk in 420 with 10 points and Aleix Subirà, with 7 points in Europe Class.

Europe

Aleix Subirà is leading the general scoring after sailing three races today His closest competitor is Laura Oliva from CM Torredembarra, with 12 points. Joaquim Domenech, from RCR Alicante, is third with 15 points, tied with the German Hude Seglervereinigung.

29er

After four races completed today in the 29er area, with three third and one sixth positions, the Swedish crew A. Salamon and F. Bergman is leading with 9 points. After them, the Muné broders with 14 points and the Swedish crew T. Kraft and S. Alm with 17 points. The next positions are for the CN Garraf crews N.Mas & F.Núñez and N. Miró & Tania.

Polish Julia Szmi & Hanna Dizk are on the top well ahead of their closest competitors, Lucas Casané & Pau Chicharro form CV Blanes, in second position tied in points with the German crew Theresa Loeffer & Hannah Loeffer. After them, Marta Forner & Enrique Mir from CN Port d'Aro with 19 points and Paula Igual & Aleix Calvet from CN Masnou.

Tomorrow will start the third competition day very early also at the Blanes bay.
